There are loads canoes, paddles and PFDs in all sizes available for rent at Camp Barnard. To avoid disappointment, they should be booked when you book your camp. Otherwise, they can, subject to availability, be booked at camp with the Camp Ranger.
Activity leaders are required to have the necessary skills to lead the youth in canoeing activities to the minimum standard outlined in Scouts Canada Policies and as outlined by their own organization.
Canoe courses are available through the Greater Victoria Area and are open to the Scouting community (Cub Scouts and older) and the public. These include BCRCA Certified Tandem Lakewater Canoe, Solo Lakewater, and Red Care (High Adventure) Canoeing. Contact Canoe@victoriascouts.ca for more information.
