Barnard Club "Un" Breakfast

Due to COVID 19 our 14th Annual Barnard Club Breakfast has become an Un-Breakfast! To avoid the loss of 1/3 of our major fundraisering income, we are calling this the Barnard Club Un-Breakfast and seeking your support.  Without this fundraiser and without at least 6 months of camper fees,  Camp Brnard is left in dire financial straits.

The speaker this year was to have been Mandy Farmer, an acknowledged community leader.  We hope she will be available to speak at our 15th Barnard Club Breakfast in 2021.  Thank you Mandy for agreeing to assist us and for the great community leadership you have shown during this difficult time.

So instead of the attending the Barnard Club Breakfast this year, we are asking all of our supporters to check out our website and Facebook pages for camp news and to support us by donating NOW at

If you prefer to donate by cheque, please make your cheque payable to SCOUTS CANADA; write Camp Barnard in the memo line and mail to Barnard Club Breakfast, 505 Marigold Road, Victoria, BC, V8Z 4R5. 100% of the funds donated will come to Camp Barnard and you will receive at tax receipt for the full amount of your donation.

All the funds from this event will be used to ensure that Camp Barnard is ready to greet our campers when re-opening is announced.

Times Colonist has agreed to sponsor two ads for us during the last week of June to recognize donors. All donations received by June 1 will be acknowledged on our website, social media, and in the Times Colonist ads.

Apple Day is a Scouting tradition that started right here in Canada! Through Apple Day youth receive donations from the public and present an apple in appreciation. Each Group selects sites to canvass including neighbourhood stores and other busy areas.

Money raised during Apple Day is shared between Scout groups and Camp Barnard.  The group portion supports youth and their programs; the Camp Barnard portion helps to maintain this great facility while keeping camp fees affordable for groups using the facility.  Aside from the important fundraising aspect of Apple Day, it is a great opportunity to show our neighbours that Scouting is thriving in the community and is worthy of support.

Camp Barnard Polar Bear Swim

Yes, it is time... to start training for the POLAR BEAR SWIM! What better way to show your love and support of Camp Barnard?
The funds raised from this event will go towards repairs, maintenance, and on-going development at camp. Don’t think about how cold the water might be on New Years Day; think about the heated washroom building next to Mor, hot showers at Keego bathroom, the nice new porch at McPherson Lodge! These are the kinds of camp improvemments your fundraising supports!
Ways to particpate in the Polar Bear Swim;
  • Sponsor someone to take the plunge on January 1st.
  • Sponsor someone to not swim… total pledges in the “don’t have to swim column” allows the participant to avoid a refreshing dip if they want to… but why would they want to do that?
  • Challenge others to take part… who can raise the most money to support Camp Barnard?
  • Out of town on January 1st? why not make a direct donation to Camp Barnard or sponsor someone else to swim? Or take the plunge wherever you are!
The badge for this event is a beauty and each year that you participate, you will get an additional year bar.
